The Visual Arts Program at Montverde Academy inspires students to explore and express their creativity through academic study and hands-on artistic creation. By fostering critical thinking and creative problem-solving, students engage in individual and collective artistic projects that push the boundaries of their imagination.

Key Features of the Program

  • Comprehensive Curriculum: The program offers a full spectrum of art courses across all grade levels:
    • Lower School: Art is an integrated part of the curriculum, sparking early creative exploration.
    • Middle School: Seventh and eighth graders can choose art as an elective, diving deeper into artistic techniques and concepts.
    • Upper School: Students can take specialized courses like Introduction to Art, 2D & 3D Art, Photography, Ceramics, Crafts, AP Studio Art, and AP Art History.
  • Subject Area Concentration for Visual Arts (SAC VA): For students passionate about art or pursuing a career in the field, the SAC VA diploma program offers a rigorous four-year curriculum designed to deepen their artistic skills while preparing them for future art-related careers. Graduates of this program earn a special diploma upon completion.
  • Creative Exploration: Students are encouraged to push their creativity through a variety of mediums—drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and more—while developing their personal artistic voice and critical thinking skills.
