The 2020-21 school year, and perhaps every year that follows, will be different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Special preparations and profound changes in traditional practices have been implemented for the protection of all of our students, faculty, and staff.
To ensure MVA is equipped to safely maintain in-person classes and offer virtual instruction, we need your support. All funds raised will help offset the unbudgeted expenses of $743,374 incurred by the Academy.

Investments include, but are not limited to:
  • 89 HVAC Infared Air Handlers to help eliminate pollutants such as viruses and bacteria
  • Disinfecting Fog Machines to purify and remove pathogens from the air
  • Swivl Stations to allow in-person and virtual students to collaborate in class
  • Plexiglass Barriers for the classroom, science labs, and computer labs
  • Face Recognition Stations and Portable Thermometers
  • Cleaning Supplies that include hand sanitizer liquid and wipes, disinfectant spray, and gowns
  • Cutlery Kits, Gloves, Disposable Paper Products for the dining hall
  • Bandwith Increase from 1G to 5G
  • Custodial Staffing Increase for daily deep cleaning
  • COVID-19 Tests
Guided by information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida State Department of Health and other scientific organizations, MVA's COVID-19 Response Team has worked in partnership with Orlando Health in developing specific plans that address the unique needs of our campus community.

Make a gift today. Whether it's a gift to retrofit an entire classroom, cover comprehensive costs to protect your child, teacher or both, or cover the cost of a thermometer - EVERY GIFT COUNTS.

Together, WE PLEDGE to protect Montverde Academy, our students, faculty, and staff, and take the next step toward building a better world.
The Cares Act provides tax incentives for charitable donations through December 31, 2020.  The PROTECT MVA Fund is one of a number of funds supporting Montverde Academy. For more opportunities on how you can help, click here. If changing circumstances bring the Protect MVA Fund to an end, contributions will be directed toward areas of greatest need.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed this year by Congress and the President provided new tax provisions for donors to nonprofits that donors can benefit from.
  • Those taking a standard deduction may take an additional, “above the line” adjustment to income of up to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple) in annual charitable contributions. **Donations to a donor advised fund (DAF) does not qualify for this new deduction.
  • Those who itemize may deduct more of the charitable donations, for individuals, up to 100% of your 2020 AGI (up from 60% previously). **The higher deduction does not apply to donations directly to a donor advised fund (DAF).
Please note this information is not intended as legal or tax advice. The Academy encourages consulting with a tax expert to answer any questions about how to qualify for these new tax incentives.
