Health & Wellness

At Montverde Academy, the safety and well-being of every student is our highest priority. We take a team-based approach, fostering a healthy and inclusive environment where all students feel safe, seen, and supported.

Our Infirmary, Counseling Services, and Sports Medicine Team work in close collaboration with other campus departments and families. Together, we ensure that every student understands our deep commitment to their health and care. This team effort is designed to provide comprehensive healthcare, empowering our students and athletes to perform at their best and achieve excellence both in sports and in life.

Infirmary

The Montverde Academy Infirmary staff is dedicated to supporting students and families while maintaining accurate health records to ensure the well-being of our student body.

Key responsibilities of our Infirmary include:

  • Healthcare support for day and boarding students while at school.
  • Collaboration with the athletic department and counselors to assist with injuries and mental health concerns.
  • Tracking of health records to ensure students are in optimal health.

Our Infirmary team is committed to providing comprehensive care to help students thrive both academically and personally.

COUNSELING

Students in all divisions have access to school counselors throughout the day. Our counselors work closely with students and faculty to support academic, emotional, and social success, both in and out of the classroom.

Key roles of our school counselors include:

  • Academic, emotional, and social support for students and families.
  • Coordination of Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum to promote overall well-being.
  • Safe, welcoming environment for students to seek help and guidance.
  • Referral and resource coordination to connect students and families with community services when needed.

Our counselors are committed to helping students thrive in every aspect of their lives.

SPORTS MEDICINE

Our athletic training staff works under the supervision of Dr. Amit Varma of the Florida Sports Injury and Orthopedic Institute. Through our partnership with Orlando Health, we can refer student-athletes to a network of specialists to support their wellness.

Key aspects of our program include:

  • Liaisons between physicians, nurses, parents, students, coaches, counselors, and the sports performance team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Facility hours at The Nest-EdgeCenter during the school day.
  • Coverage of athletic contests in the evenings.

This approach ensures each student-athlete receives personalized care and support for their health and performance.
