Middle School robotics team earns bid to world robotics competition
From February 17 to February 19, our Middle School robotics team participated in the Florida State Middle School IQ VEX Challenge Championship in Tampa, Florida. Team Technique won first place in the STEM award competition! They were judged best out of 61 other state qualifying STEM presentations. Team members Ethan K., Chris V., Jaithin G., & Shreyas S. couldn’t be happier about their outstanding achievement.
Winning this award has earned these students a ticket to compete in the Worlds Robotics competition in Kentucky! The other Montverde Academy teams within the Middle School team also did well and could still earn a ticket to the World competition in the coming weeks depending on outside circumstances.
Middle School Robotics team leader Ashley McCombes says she is amazed and proud of how far the team has come in just one year. “The support of students, parents, faculty and the the entire administration at all levels this past year has blossomed into an incredible, high-achieving new adventure for us all,” she said. “Krissie Kaufman, in particular, has been vital to the success of this new venture. If there were such a thing, I would nominate her for MVA Parent of the Year!”
Congratulations to the entire Middle School Robotics team. We can’t wait to cheer you on at the World Robotics competition!
