Montverde Academy is proud to announce that 23 student-athletes participated in National Signing Day on November 11, marking the first time that these high school seniors can officially announce their intent to play collegiate sports. Each student-athlete has earned the opportunity for full and partial scholarships totaling almost $1.7 million in awards.
Student-athletes have earned scholarships to play their sport for prestigious universities such as Baylor University, University of Missouri, Creighton University, University of Michigan, Vanderbilt University, Florida State University, and more.
This year's signing day looked a little different, with signees being celebrated at a gathering hosted at the EdgeCenter for Sportsmanship & Wellness. Signees celebrated the achievement with family, friends, and coaches for their outstanding athletic and academic achievements. These student-athletes were featured in a video that was shared with their peers to further celebrate their achievement.
"The entire Montverde Academy community congratulates our student-athletes and their families on their tremendous accomplishment," said Dr. Kasey C. Kesselring, Montverde Academy Head of School. "This is an exciting day for a student-athlete and his/her family as it is the culmination of many years of hard work and sacrifice. We wish our students continued success and look forward to watching them pursue their passion at the collegiate level."
