The Lower School concluded the year with a drive-by end of year celebration for students to connect with their teachers and administrators. The event was well attended with smiling parents and students waving, returning items, giving teachers gifts, and picking up items
There were lots of well wishes and cheers from families in vehicles that included parents, students, siblings, and grandparents – to the MVA staff and faculty. Many students created and shared their positive messages on posters and a number of cars were decorated. There were lots of “We miss you” sentiments and encouraging “Keep reading!” messages, as well as some tears from the fifth-grade families who are heading to the Middle School.
"It was a great celebration of an although very unique, successful school year," said Mrs. Meristell Shackelford, Dean of Lower School. "Students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators where equally excited to see each other’s smiling faces. With the final quarter of the school year being distance learning, it was so important to have closure to the school year with the opportunity to say “good-bye” even from a distance!"
We thank all of our parents and students for doing so well under unprecedented circumstances. Have a wonderful summer!
