MVA Enjoys Basketball Game Featuring RJ Barrett (’18), NY Knick and MVA Alum

The Purple and Gold were out in droves last night supporting alumnus RJ Barrett’s (’18) first game in the area playing for the NBA’s New York Knick, who took on the Orlando Magic. It was a close game, until the Magic pulled away in the fourth quarter, but it was a fun opportunity for MVA fans to support RJ, who was last seen playing at MVA on the 2017-18 National Championship Eagles team!
Nearly 500 MVA students, faculty, staff, and friends attended the game to hoot and holler for RJ! A number of students also enjoyed hitting the floor after the game to pose for pictures with RJ and even cut a piece of the net as a keepsake.
Our talented MVA select choir was featured singing the National Anthem! They did an amazing job – catch that performance HERE. Our 2019-20 Eagles Varsity Basketball team was also recognized at center court during intermission.
Congratulations to RJ and his success - we are proud to support him! It was a fun night out for MVA at the Amway Center. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
