Golf is Swinging for Success

Golf matches are in full swing – pun intended! The season is moving along quickly with both the girls and boys teams playing well in competitive matches. On Monday, the girls golf team had a match against First Academy, one of the top teams in the state. The team lost the match, but had their best showing of the year with a 184. Mia Hornberger was low medalist for the MVA team with a 40, followed by Terry Zhuang with a 42. Improving every match is Abby Henne and she scored her lowest nine-hole score in competition with a 46!! Also playing well was Lucy Nguyen and Mieke Palmer. The next match is at home at Bella Collina against Circle Christian. Come out and support the Girl’s Golf Team!
Last week, the boys team had a very competitive match against The Masters Academy, and was able to win the match 168 to 175. The score of 168 was the lowest score in three years for the MVA team in a regular season match! The Masters Academy was 4-0 coming into the match. Nicky Riscica was low medalist with a great score of 38. Quinton Barnhill and Jacky Zhang were the next lowest with a score of 43. Sam Kozisek shot 44, and Andrew Megler and Grant Piersall played well. MVA Boy’s Golf team is now 4-0!! Go Eagles!! The next match is September 17 at Bella Collina against Geneva.
