Campus Preparing for Students to Return to Class

The first day of school is a little over a week away and the MVA campus is bustling with activity! A number of new teachers, coaches and faculty on are on campus and settling in. The MVA Parents’ Association has hosted the Used Uniform Sale which was well-attended. Charlotte JeBailey, this year’s PA president, extends the PA’s thanks to all of the volunteers who gave time to that endeavor to make it successful.
The Headmaster’s Leadership Institute is on a retreat this week. The HLI for the 2019-20 school year includes the Arts and Athletics Leadership Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Eagle Ambassadors, Honor Council, Prefects, Student Government Association, and Student Leadership Council. The retreat, led by Mr. John Weaver, dean of students, includes a blend of community service, leadership development, planning for the 2019-20 school year, team building, and more. Community service projects include working with a local church cleaning up a warehouse; painting and maintaining trails at a park; painting, cleaning up a lake shore and made blankets for children at a camp; and working with Second Harvest Food Bank. Students are planning, preparing and serving each other daily and enjoying team building activities for an exciting and educational trip.
