Student Chosen to Serve on Florida Key Club District Board

Montverde Academy is proud to announce that Amber Morgan, a junior at MVA, has been chosen to serve on the Florida Key Club District Board. She will serve as the District Education and Leadership Conference (DCON) Chair, responsible for organizing and executing all parts of the annual Key Club District Education and Leadership Conference, held in April 2020. Additionally, Amber will serve as a conference resource for clubs and board members throughout the year.

A very active Key Club member at the school, division, and district levels, Amber was recognized as a Key Club Distinguished Editor and earned the Division Key Clubber of the Year. She will participate in District board meetings and monthly Division Council Meetings (DCMs). The DCMs provide local Clubs with opportunities to meet and participate in community service projects together, from food, school supply and recycling drives to dance marathons and beach and community cleanups. This summer, Amber will also attend the Key Club International Convention (ICON) in Baltimore, Maryland, where more than 1,500 Key Club members from around the world gather to share ideas, hear from amazing speakers, train for leadership positions, and more.

“Key Club inspires me because I can serve my community while learning important skills such as leadership and teamwork,” said Amber. “As the DCON Chair, I hope to plan and run the best DCON with record breaking attendance and lots of fun workshops and inspiring presentations. The best part of being part of the district level is that I can serve my community on a larger scale and work with people with the same passion for leadership and service as I have.”

“We congratulate Amber on being selected to serve on the District Board,” said Dr. Kasey C. Kesselring, Headmaster. “She is a dedicated student who has worked hard serving others, and we applaud her efforts for the Academy as well as the District. This is a great opportunity for her to continue pursuing her passion for leadership and service.”

Congratulations Amber!
