More than 300 guests enjoyed delicious food, good music and the opportunity to bid on great live and silent auction items at MVA’s annual Celebrating Education Gala this past weekend. The evening benefits the Time to Lead campaign for the construction of a new Middle School building.
Guests enjoyed taking pictures by an array of fantastic period cars, generously loaned by the Kings Ridge Car Club. Once in the doors, the Route 66 theme was featured in décor that transported guests to yesteryear and the Mother Road. Delicious comfort food stuck to your ribs and delectable desserts of mini milkshakes, silk pie and cookies were provided by Tabletop Catering.
The live auction was feisty with paddles in the air to bid on trips to Aruba, Scotland, Colorado, and Jamaica - and bidding on the silent auction pitted friends in a frenzy to win great baskets, trips and more. All the proceeds directly benefit the Time to Lead campaign for the new Middle School.
Another highlight of the evening was a video to honor Mr. Warren Delmolino, our Middle School Dean who is retiring after 29 years of dedicated service to Montverde Academy. Dr. Kasey Kesselring called Mr. Del up on stage for the share a video piece, followed by a heartfelt speech by Mr. Del, which was met with a standing ovation. He was surrounded by family who traveled to celebrate and honor him during the evening.
The evening concluded with a packed dance floor and happy guests. Celebrating Education was successful in exceeding our $50,000 goal in the silent and live auctions. We are happy to announce that the Middle School Lobby will be named in honor of Mr. Del.
