Choirs Participate in America Sings! Performance

Members of MVA’s Lower, Middle and Upper School choirs participated in the America Sings! program hosted at Universal Studios recently. America Sings! is a non-profit organization that annually hosts an outdoor choral festival and community service project. More than 1,000 students took part in the day which featured individual choir performances, a community service aspect and a grand finale of four songs performed together.
Our choir gave a lovely performance of a number of songs early in the day. Then, they participated in the service project to help make 2,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for local food kitchens and schools, followed by the packing of 1,000 backpacks with school supplies for for Sawgrass Bay Elementary School.
We are proud to congratulate Amealia Hall, seventh grade choir and music conservatory member, who out of 1,000 participants this weekend was chosen as one of the soloists to lead the finale. Every school that participated could select four students to audition in front of a panel of festival judges early on Saturday. From that pool eight students were selected to solo during the mass finale. Amealia did an amazing job!
