Our Fine Arts programs are preparing for upcoming performances! This Monday, November 19, our Music Conservatory will be performing their one act comedic opera, “Bastien and Bastienna,” at 6:30 p.m. in the Sandra O. Stephens Fine Art Auditorium – admission is free.
On December we have our annual Lessons & Carols performance at the Clermont Recreation Center, featuring tenor Ben Sculley and soprano Goitsemang Lehobye, with accompaniment by MVA’s choir and orchestra. Followed on December 12 with Music Conservatory instrumental and vocal students in special combined holiday themed studio recital. That performance will be in the orchestra room and will include homemade holiday treats, strolling carolers, soloists, and small ensembles performing seasonal favorites.
The Yuletide Singers, comprised of the MVA Select Choir, are prepared with a wealth of traditional and non-traditional Christmas and holiday songs to sing in six-part a cappella harmony. They are as pretty as a Christmas card, decked out in holiday outfits to inspire the holiday spirit, and ready to perform! This troupe will add an elegant touch to any holiday gathering (now booking now for December), they don’t charge a fee, but do accept donations.
Lower School students are working hard to prepare for the annual holiday performances which are coming up on December 6 (kindergarten through second grade) and 13 (third through fifth grade) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Stephens Auditorium. Students have spent the last three months of drama class preparing for these wonderful grade level programs. Each student has a speaking part and all of the songs have fun choreography the audience is sure to enjoy! The performances last between 60 and 80 minutes. Our youngest students from each class present lovely holiday-themed performances that shouldn’t be missed!
We look forward to seeing you at our performances!
