Girls Cross Country Team Wins Third Straight Regional Title

Congratulations to the Montverde Academy girls cross country who team won their third straight regional title at the Weeki Wachee Preserve in Spring Hill, Fla. on November 3.
The team was led by Lily Henne with a time of 18:02 that earned her a second place finish, followed by Kendyl Cardwell (18:58) in fourth and Ryleigh Sperry (19:10) finishing in fifth palce. All three of the MVA athletes not only scored major points for the team, they also broke the Weeki Wachee Preserve course record with their times! Team members Brianna Heirs, Fernanda Uruchurtu, Jayci Brauman, and Zarrah Barbaza followed with great results that added to the Lady Eagle's score propelling them to their third consecutive regional title.
"Getting to states was one of our biggest goals for the season," said Lori Treweek, head coach. "The hard work and dedication that these ladies demonstrate daily at practice shows in their races. They are well prepared and ready to take on the competition at states."
