Cinemagic! enjoyed its recent run of three sold out performances! The Choral Cabaret is a different format than most productions with the audience seated on stage at café tables amidst the performers who are singing and dancing in multiple locations in and around them. This year, the middle and upper school’s choral department celebrated the glamour of old Hollywood and the silver screen’s musical history by bringing to the stage beloved show-stopping tunes from classic and contemporary movies.
There were many standout performances. An audience favorite from the Academy Singers was their rendition of “Time After Time.” Caroline Silva sang the haunting and melodic “Skyfall.” An original duet, titled “Beviamo,” written by Isabelle Taylor and performed by Isabelle and Benazir Serna, was accompanied by a captivating video. Gabe Semenitari performed a heartfelt rendition of the hit, “This is Me,” from the popular movie “The Greatest Showman,” that moved the audience to tears. Aiden Bjortvedt adeptly played piano and sang, “Out There,” from “Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
Congratulations to all of the students who participated and the those behind the scenes who really work hard to make the magic happen!
