MVA Class of 2025 college acceptances

Montverde Academy’s 100 percent college acceptance rate is a testament to the strength of its college placement process. Our graduates not only secure multiple acceptances but often gain admission to their top-choice schools. From grades 8-12, our experienced team of counselors works closely with students, providing personalized guidance at every step of the journey. Our goal is to help each student find the right college fit, a crucial factor in achieving long-term success.

MVA College Process

The College Counseling department provides a vital resource to help students and families understand the process in finding the best college or university fit. Montverde Academy provides students with an in-depth process in preparing them for their journey into higher education.

At Montverde Academy, we have over 100 college representatives visit each year. 

College Visits

 

GRADE 9

  • Take the PSAT (preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test)
  • College Information Night featuring a panel of admissions directors
  • Students also take part in our multi-year College and Career Planning Curriculum

Topics include:
- Accessing Scoir, our platform to facilitate college and career planning
- Learning about the different types of colleges
- Discovering their college fit
- Taking the PrinciplesYou character assessment survey
- Researching scholarships
- Understanding how to calculate GPA

GRADE 10

  • Take the PSAT (preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test)
  • College Information Night featuring a panel of admissions directors
  • Introduction to the college process in individual sophomore English classes
  • Students continue to take part in our multi-year College and Career Planning Curriculum

Topics include:
- Building out activities and honors lists in Scoir
- Researching different types of colleges
- Exploring their college fit
- Retaking the PrinciplesYou character assessment survey
- Researching scholarships
- Understanding how to calculate GPA

 

 

GRADE 11

  • Take the PSAT (preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test)
  • Take the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT (American College test)
  • College Information Night featuring a panel of admissions directors
  • College and University visits and presentations from admissions reps
  • Individual meetings with assigned college counselor
  • Invitation to the annual college fair for juniors hosted by the Central Florida Consortium of Private School Counselors
  • Students continue to take part in our multi-year College and Career Planning Curriculum

Topics include:
- Continue building out activities and honors lists in Scoir
- Creating your college following list
- Retaking the PrinciplesYou character assessment survey
- Researching scholarships
- Understanding how to calculate GPA

GRADE 12

  • Take the SAT or ACT
  • Regular meetings with assigned college counselor
  • College and University visits and presentations from admissions reps
  • Common Application and Essay workshops
  • Financial Aid Night Presentation
  • International Students Night Presentation
  • Senior Parents Night Presentation
  • Café Tuesdays – October college application workshops
  • Students continue to take part in our multi-year College and Career Planning Curriculum

Topics include:
- Finalizing activities and honors list in Scoir
- Paying for college – understanding financial aid
- Researching scholarships
- Understanding admissions decisions
