Will Moss Wins National Title

Montverde Academy is proud to celebrate rising junior Will Moss, who recently won the Boys 2-Mile National Championship at the Adidas Outdoor Track Nationals. Competing unattached, Moss delivered a standout performance, crossing the finish line with a winning time of 9:19:33. 

"Coach Spanbauer and I wanted to give the 2-Mile one last hard effort on the track," said Moss. "The goal going into the race was just to run past every person in front of me. I started out in last place going through the first half mile. After that, I slowly made my way up to the front, and with one lap left I decided to go for it. When I passed the leader and crossed the finish line, I was extremely happy. The season was a bit bumpy up until nationals, so I was happy to prove to myself I still had that intensity. Most importantly, it sets me up for success going to summer training for cross country. I want to win the cross country state championships in the fall."
