Senior Breakfast, Seminar, and Trip to SeaWorld: A Day of Planning, Fun, and Adventure

Senior Breakfast, Seminar, and Trip to SeaWorld: A Day of Planning, Fun, and Adventure

On Tuesday, February 3, the Class of 2026 took their senior class trip to SeaWorld Adventure Park.

To kick off the trip, students met for breakfast and attended a senior seminar, featuring a Q&A session between Mr. Jeff Wexler, Director of College Counseling at Montverde Academy, and Mr. Ryan Disch, Senior Regional Admissions Counselor at High Point University. Mr. Wexler asked Mr. Disch questions regarding college and career services that colleges offer to students:

  • When does the career services office start working with students?
  • How do colleges help students find internships?
  • Which companies recruit on campus directly or post jobs through career portals?
  • Do career service offices help connect students with alumni?
  • What career support is available for students whose majors are in the liberal arts/humanities path?
  • What types of opportunities on campus should students look to be involved in that can help them launch into their careers?
  • How has AI affected the role of career planning offices in how they guide students with career planning?

After the Q&A session, Senior Class President Lyder Reksten announced that the 2026 Senior Prom, themed The Great Gatsby, will be held at Disney Yacht Club Resort, and seniors voted on the menu for the prom buffet.

Seniors then participated in a team-building game before loading the buses for their exciting day at SeaWorld.

“Seaworld was an amazing experience for us seniors,” said Jayden Chan. “We enjoyed the rollercoasters, aquariums, and shows with all our friends, making it a truly memorable experience. My favorite part was when a bunch of MVA students were all on the same rollercoaster and experienced the same fear and thrill that connected us with each other.”

“I enjoyed SeaWorld a lot with my friends, and we all had so much fun and many laughs,” said Max Irving. “The funniest part of my day was when we tried winning the stuffed animals, and we had so much fun riding Mako, too.”

“I had a lot of fun at SeaWorld today,” said Cobi Wu. “I went with several friends to different rides, shows, and exhibits. My favorite part of the day was the Arctic exhibit, where we got to see a video of the Arctic and different animals like beluga whales and penguins.”

“The senior SeaWorld trip with all my friends was so much fun!” said Fiona Valtonen. “I got to create a lot of fun new memories that I will remember forever. Spending time with my classmates is so special because I know that these friendships that we create will last. This trip was full of laughter and quality time with the seniors—so, so much fun!”

“Being at SeaWorld with my friends from Montverde Academy is a memory I will never forget,” said Akani Sithole. “From the screaming, laughter, and adrenaline rushing through our veins on the rides to sitting around tables, talking, laughing, and trying to maximize our food vouchers, every moment felt special. I’ll always remember standing in long lines, playing games, and laughing nonstop. These weren’t just fun memories with friends, but moments that strengthened my bond with my family and brothers and will stay with me forever.”
