“First Grade, Here We Come!” Kindergarteners Celebrate Graduation at MVA

We were so excited to celebrate the incredible milestone of our Kindergarten class! On Wednesday, May 20, families, friends, and faculty gathered to honor these students and their achievements over the past school year.

After their processional, our enthusiastic Kindergarteners took the stage to perform “I'm on My Way.” Next, Mrs. Shirley and Ms. Delong’s class used various props to illustrate their rendition of “May There Always Be Sunshine.” Some of the props were even decorated to look like teachers! Then Mrs. Sinopoli and Ms. Rodriguez’s class took the stage carrying glittery top hats in a full spectrum of colors. Their singing of “First Grade, First Grade” and their choreography of high kicks did not disappoint. And last but not least, Mrs. Granada, Mrs. Tieder, and Ms. Arango-Mejia’s class put on their dark sunglasses to capture the cool vibes of their song “First Grade, Here We Come.”

Mrs. Kristen Kladiva, Associate Dean of the Lower School, welcomed students to the stage as Mrs. Shirley, Mrs. Sinopoli, and Mrs. Tieder presented these graduates with their diplomas. Ms. Meristell Shackelford, Dean of the Lower School, and Mr. Jon Hopman, Head of School, then shook their hands to congratulate them on their hard work and their exciting promotion to first grade.

Congratulations to the Class of 2038 and a huge thank-you to Mrs. Shirley, Mrs. Sinopoli, Mrs. Granada, Mrs. Tieder, and their teaching assistants, Ms. Delong, Ms. Rodriguez, and Ms. Arango-Mejia, for their commitment to our students and their passion for teaching.
