Courtyard Connections Brings Community, Culture, and Causes Together

Courtyard Connections Brings Community, Culture, and Causes Together

Despite rainy skies, students brought the energy and conversation during Courtyard Connections on February 5, as students gathered to learn and share. The Muslim Student Union (MSU) and Night for the Cure (NFC) committee used the opportunity to educate peers and strengthen community bonds.

The Muslim Student Union focused on raising awareness about the upcoming month of Ramadan, helping students better understand its meaning and traditions. Through interactive activities and open discussion, MSU members highlighted the values of fasting, prayer, reflection, and compassion that define the month. They also emphasized the shared connections between Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions, creating space for thoughtful dialogue.

“The activity encouraged meaningful dialogue, sparked curiosity, and helped build understanding through common values and beliefs, said MSU advisor Mrs. Kelly Berglund.

Just steps away, the NFC committee welcomed students to learn more about their mission and signature event. Even in the cold, rainy weather, NFC members created a warm and inviting space, complete with NFC blankets on display, where they spoke with students about the organization’s purpose and how to get involved.

We used the opportunity to talk with students about what NFC is, why it matters, and how they can get involved,” said NFC Marketing Director and senior Lyder Reksten.

Together, the MSU and NFC showcased how student-led initiatives can foster cultural understanding, promote meaningful causes, and bring the school community together, rain or shine. Courtyard Connections once again proved to be a powerful space for learning beyond the classroom, where conversations, service, and shared experiences take center stage.
