In addition to being an outstanding college preparatory school, Montverde Academy is a wonderful place to live. Montverde Academy 는 우수한 대입 준비 학교일 뿐 아니라 생활하기가 매우 좋은 곳입니다. Our boarding program provides a secure, caring environment where every student is part of the Montverde community. 본교의 기숙 프로그램은 모든 학생을 Montverde 공동체의 일부로 간주해 안전하게 보살피는 환경을 제공합니다.
Our dormitories are led by House Parents who supervise and care for our students. 본교의 기숙사는 학생들을 관리하고 보살피는 사감에 의해서 지도됩니다. House Parents play a key role in our boarding community; many students consider them to be family members. 사감은 기숙사에서 핵심적 역할을 하며 많은 학생들이 사감을 가족처럼 생각하고 있습니다. We encourage regular communication between House Parents and students’ families, this allows the family and the Academy to can work more closely for the student’s well-being, progress and success. 사감과 학생의 가족이 정기적으로 대화를 갖는 것이 좋습니다. 이렇게 하면 가족과 본교가 학생의 복리, 학업 발달 및 학업 성공을 위해서 더 긴밀하게 협력할 수 있습니다.
Students are expected to perform daily dorm chores, including maintaining/cleaning their rooms (making their beds, vacuuming floors, etc). 학생들은 방의 관리/청소(침대 정리, 바닥 청소 등)를 포함해 기숙사의 일상적인 잡일을 해야 합니다. This instills a sense of responsibility, ownership, and gives them the ability to take pride in their surroundings. 이를 통해 책임감과 주인의식을 기르고 주변 환경에 대한 자부심을 가질 수 있습니다.
Each boarding student participates year round on a competitive athletic team or the option to be involved with an after school activity. 기숙 학생은 체육 경기 팀에 연중 내내 참여하거나 방과후 활동에 참여할 수 있습니다. After school activities take place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Students have an array of activities to choose from including: 방과후 활동은 월요일, 화요일, 목요일 오후 4:00부터 5:00까지 실시됩니다. 학생들은 다음과 같은 활동 중에서 선택할 수 있습니다: Strength conditioning, general fitness, yoga, tennis lessons, swimming, drama, select choir, etc. Competitive athletic teams require more of a commitment as they may practice Monday - Saturday and may travel to neighboring schools for competition. 근력 강화, 일반적인 체력 단련, 요가, 테니스 수업, 수영, 드라마, 합창단 등. 체육 경기 팀에 참여하려면 더 많은 시간을 내야 합니다. 월요일에서 토요일까지 연습하고 주변 학교를 찾아가 경기를 치를 수 있기 때문입니다.
Upon completion of activities/athletics students go to the Martha Bedell Dining Hall for dinner and the opportunity to socialize with friends. 활동/체육을 마친 후 학생들은 마사 베델 식당(Martha Bedell Dining Hall)으로 가서 저녁을 먹고 친구들과 사귈 기회를 갖습니다. After dinner, students have study hall in their respective dorm. 저녁 식사 후 학생들은 각자의 기숙사로 돌아가 학습관에서 공부합니다. Students who achieve a 3.0 grade point average or higher will have earned honor roll privileges (student receiving a C, D or an F in any class are ineligible for making Honor Roll). GPA 3.0 이상인 학생은 성적 우수생의 특권을 받게 됩니다(어떤 수업에서든 C 학점 또는 D 학점 또는 F 학점을 받는 경우 성적 우수생의 특권을 받을 자격이 없습니다). These privileges allow these students to watch television in the rec room, use their computer to watch a movie or play a game, make phone calls, or visit with another honor roll student. 성적 우수생 특권을 이용해 성적 우수생은 오락실에서 텔레비전을 볼 수 있거나, 컴퓨터를 이용해 영화를 보거나 게임을 할 수 있거나, 전화를 걸 수 있거나, 다른 우등생을 찾아갈 수 있습니다. Those not on the honor roll are expected to be in their room studying. 성적 우수생이 아닌 학생들은 자기 방에서 공부해야 합니다. Our goal is to have as many students possible on the honor roll. 본교의 목표는 최대한 많은 학생을 성적 우수생으로 만드는 것입니다.
Four times each year, a Dorm Night Out is planned. 일년에 네 번 야간 외출(Dorm Night Out)이 계획되어 있습니다. On these nights study hall time is adjusted to earlier in the day and all boarding students are taken off campus to locations such as City Walk at Universal Studios or Downtown Disney. 이날 밤에는 학습관을 일찍 닫고 모든 기숙학생을 유니버설 스튜디오의 시티 웍 또는 다운타운 디즈니와 같은 장소로 데리고 갑니다. This gives the students the opportunity to get off campus, have dinner, see a movie or just hang out with friends. 이를 통해 학생들은 캠퍼스를 나오거나 저녁을 먹거나 영화를 보거나 친구들과 어울릴 기회를 갖습니다.
