The Montverde Academy Golf team has grown to be a valuable asset in our athletic department, and deserving of our competitive reputation. Going undefeated last year with such a young team has made the 2005/2006 year our most promising season yet. The Eagles golf team follows a strict regimen for their success. A golfer's day begins at 8 am because of the Academy's high academic standards. Any athlete who fails to perform in the classroom will be required to attend afternoon tutorial and miss golf until their grades improve, regardless of their performance on the greens. The day culminates in daily practice sessions that focus on all elements of the sport, to include course strategy and etiquette.
Our ambitious schedule has our golfers competing in matches twice a week. Six players will represent the Academy for each of the 9 hole matches. Of these six, the top four scores will be used in the points to total to determine the winning team. |
