Cash: While there are many ways to give to the school, a cash gift is the most common and often the easiest.
Matching: If your employer matches gifts, your donation can have double the impact at Montverde Academy. Please pick up a matching gift form from your company's personnel office and return it to Montverde Academy.
Stock: Gifts of appreciated securities of stock can be one of the most advantageous ways of giving. If your stock is one you have owned for more than one year, you may deduct the full fair market value of the stock as a charitable contribution, while bypassing all capital gains taxes.
Charitable Remainder Trust: This Trust allows you to establish a trust that benefits you and/or your beneficiaries with income for life or a period of determined years, and then directs the remainder value to the school when the trust terminates. Remainder Trusts are commonly used in two forms: The Unitrust, where variable income is received on an annual basis, or the Annuity Trust, where the annual payment is a fixed dollar amount. Named trusts are a wonderful way to leave your legacy at Montverde Academy.
Charitable Lead Trust: This is another way to benefit your family and Montverde Academy. You can "loan" an asset to the school for a set term of years. Montverde uses the "lead income" for the designated period of years and after that time, the assets come back to you or your heirs with favorable tax consequences.
Bequest: A gift to Montverde Academy, made through a bequest, is a symbol of commitment and a strong reminder to those who remain of unyielding philanthropy and concern for the future education at Montverde Academy. There are a number of simple bequest arrangements that can work for the donor and his or her loved ones. A General Bequest is a gift of cash satisfied from the general assets of an estate. When a portion, or all, of the remainder of the estate is directed to the school, after payment of expenses, debt, and general bequests, it is done so through a Residential Bequest. Whatever the arrangement, including the school in your estate plans is one of the easiest ways to truly make a difference in the future of our students.
Before naming MVA in your will or considering another kind of planned gift, such as a Trust, consult with an attorney or financial adviser to explore what type of planned gift is best for you and your family.
