Theatre
Theatre at Montverde Academy is alive and thriving. With two main-stage productions, an all-school musical, and active drama and improv clubs, Montverde Academy Thespians have a home on "the boards". Drama activities are fed by a host of academic drama classes including Introduction to Theatre, Acting I and II, Children's Theatre, Modern Theatre, Theatre History, Directing, Technical Theatre, and Musical Theatre. The Academy's Thespian Troupe competes in the Florida Regional and State Thespian Festivals. Students often take trips to see community and professional theatre productions in near-by Clermont, Winter Garden, and Orlando. In addition to the onstage opportunities, the entire technical aspect of every show is student run. From lights, props, costumes, and sets to the Assistant Director, Stage Manager, and House Manager, students are given numerous practical opportunities to make live theatre at Montverde Academy.
Montverde Academy's Middle and Lower School divisions also have active theatrical activities. The Middle School produces two stage shows each year as well as a talent show. They also participate in our annual service of Lessons and Carols.
The Lower School Thespians also act and sing in Lessons and Carols as well as produce at least 16 stage shows and musicals every year!
